Ache-Growing Pains

Their sweet faces. If I look closely enough I can still see them as they were. Mere babies, just a little while ago. It's not fair how time flies on by.  I long to hold them like I used to. Sing and rock them to sleep

Their innocence of the world then and their knowing of it now. I'm amazed. How much they learn these few school years so fast.

I wish I could slow down time, he's my enemy.  If he keeps it up soon my babies will be grown and living out in this world on their own.

I try to take snapshots of moments in my mind, and remind them of times when they were little. They laugh and rolll their eyes. They love the fact they are growing up.If they're scared they don't admit it, not now anyways.

Whew, that was tough!  5 minutes of writing. Randomness at it's best! I'm linked up today with Gypsy Mama for her 5 minutes of writing Friday. It was fun!

  1. My heart, exactly. Glad to read yours today, Alecia - clicked over from gypsymama!
Enjoy your kids today : )

    1. Thanks and thanks for stopping over! I plan to enjoy them each day and be thankful for everyday I have with them.

  2. I understand this ache. Mine aren't quite in school yet. My heart hurts just thinking about releasing them to the world. My Mom says it never gets better. I like what you said about them loving the fact that they are growing up. That's so true! I'm going to go hug my kids a little tighter today. Great post!

  3. Enjoy them while they are home, school starting happens so quickly, and they grow up so fast once they start school!
    Thanks for stopping over!!

Your Turn...
