Being Real

Linking up today  at Gypsy Mama's for her 5 min Friday. Over there she encourages you to write for 5 min flat. No editing, backtracking allowed.

Today's prompt:: REAL
Go::  Real, isn't that what we all want. To be real with those around us. No judgement, no fear.  It's what brings us to community. Needing to find people that we can open our hearts to and be real with.

Sometimes though being real is too much for people. They aren't sure what to do with all your realness, because they are comfortable with their own realness.

We all wish to drop the masks, but fear of rejection and being misunderstood keeps them firmly in place.

If only we could love and accept ourselves. Then we would show the same grace to others.  We are called to love. But love comes when you are allowed to be yourself.

Oh, to be real. There is freedom. Freedom from the fear, because we know and have swallowed the truth that we are each beautiful and wonderful in our own way.

Stop!

I haven't linked over in a while, Friday is my errand day, but today I finished early. I can't wait to read what others had to say about being REAL.  Click over?

  2. I have always had the urge to say when someone asks me...How are you...and spill it. I mean really just spill the lot of all that is not working well. Not sure that would score me friends. lol

    1. It is a lot of fun. And nice just to write whatever comes into your head and not worry if it sounds just right.

  7. Yes, the connection between fear and being not real--so true. Some profound wisdom in this short exercise!
